Fathers and Sons 2014

The annual Fathers and Sons Aaronic Priesthood outing was in Johnson Canyon this year.  This is a favorite spot for the Third Ward.  After a great dinner under the direction of the High Priests Group, Stephen Howells led us in a couple of songs (hymns, actually!) and then James Holland and Bob Gurr each took a few minutes and spoke to the group.  The Elders were in charge of breakfast and I'll leave that report to someone else as I had to leave early.

December 2013

Adam and RuthAnn Cowles welcomed a new addition to their family.  A baby boy named Alex.

On Decamber 12th the ward had their annual Christmas party.   The Relief Society was in charge.  They did a great job.   Their was great food and the kids sang some christmas songs and did a nativity.   It was a great night to reflect on the year and our ward family. 

November 2013

Jerrol and Peggy made it to their 50th wedding anniversary. Their children and grandchildren had a party for them.  Their Anniversary was on November 23rd.  The party was on December 6th.  That day was a huge snow storm.  Kanab got over 12 inches in just a few hours.  It shut down the whole area.  Church was even cancelled on Sunday.   This has not ever happened before as far as I know. 

 

 

  There was a special fast for Keira Beckstead.  She was having surgery.  She did well and is in recovery. 

October 2013

Kent and Amy Burggraaf welcomed a new baby boy in their family.  His name is Isaac.


Gavin Peatross was baptized and confirmed on October 17th, by his father.  Proud parents are Wade and Janette Peatross. 

September 2013

Karter Ramsay was baptized and confirmed a member of the church on September 7th by his uncle Kole Ramsay.   Proud parents are Kristian and Danielle Ramsay. 

Fall Scout Camp was held in September 27-28.

August 2013

The Relief Society had a Garden Potluck Party on August 13 at Nancy Fords new home in the 5th ward.   There was lots of food and and a lot of fun socializing. 

July 2013

The Relief Society received two new counselors.  Layle Johnson (1st) and Sara Vincent (2nd) replaced Nancy Ford and Emily Harris.  

Meghan Fryer was baptized on July 3rd by her father Adam Cowles.  Proud parents are Adam and RuthAnn Cowles.  Grandparents Vince and Sara Vincent. 

July 23rd was a Primary Fun Day at the city park.   They had a great time playing water games.

Daniel Schmutz received his mission call to the Alabama Birmingham (Spanish speaking) Mission.  He was sent to the Mexico MTC to learn spanish before going to Alabama.  Elder Schmutz will be an awesome missionary.
